Value theory

Value theory is the portion of normative ethics having to do with rational conceptions of the desirable.

Virtue

„The virtues are some goods in the soul – and the goods in the soul are divided into three – wisdom, virtue, and pleasure. … Virtue is a habit of the soul.“ (Aristotle, MM 1184b 4)

Virtue theory

Virtue theory is the portion of normative ethics having to do with virtues, i. e., persistent dispositions or traits of good character in persons.
